About the accommodation
We run Gwarmacwydd as a cottage-style aparthotel on a working organic farm, and the price of your stay buys a farm holiday experience. Every stay includes:
- 🐐The daily farm feeding walk at 8:30 every morning of the year, led by Angela and our family. Feed the pygmy goats and the chickens, and help wherever the day’s work takes you. It usually runs to about two hours, and longer when the stories and questions get going.
- 🐓Collecting the eggs, and a fresh one for your breakfast. If there aren’t enough to go round, the children who missed out get first claim the next day.
- 🐄Bottle-feeding the calves, helping when the cattle are moved, and walking tours of the cattle sheds with one of the family.
- 🐑Bottle-feeding the lambs in spring.
- 🚜Rides between the paddocks and the sheds in Angela’s buggy. There isn’t room for everyone, so the children learn to take turns.
- 📍Our advice every day on where to go, on the farm and around the area: which fields the animals are in, the best walk for the weather, and the beaches and places worth a visit.
- 🏡Your cottage ready when you arrive, with the heating on and the lights on, and a welcome the morning after, when we meet you and show you round.
- 🏡All bed linen, with the beds made up for your arrival (cot linen is not provided); all heating, electricity and water; and a fully equipped kitchen, with tea towels, kitchen roll, washing-up liquid, bin bags, soap and toilet rolls to start you off.
- 🌼Shared use of the family garden, the front lawn and football pitch, the children’s play areas and the toys. The wooden go-carts and scooters are handed out by a member of staff and put away each evening.
- 🌳Shared use of the Estate: over 450 acres, including 50 acres of ancient woodland and miles of farm tracks.
- 🏞️2.5 miles of riverbank on the River Tâf, for walking, paddling and picnics.
- 🎣Fishing on the River Tâf. You will need a rod fishing licence, which you can buy online.
- 📶Wi-Fi in The Old Coach House, The Butlers and the garden, the barbecue equipment (charcoal is extra), benches in the gardens and grounds, and a travel cot and high chair on request for children up to 3.
Towels, and logs for The Old Coach House wood burner, are available as extras.
A welcome tray is waiting in your cottage when you arrive: milk, Tregroes waffles, a selection of teas, both caffeinated and herbal, coffee, and sugar and sweeteners.
Fresh towels are available as an extra: a set of bath, hand and face towels, laundered by us, at £5 per set. Add them to your booking when you check in online and they will be waiting in your cottage when you arrive. They are for use in the cottage, so please bring your own for the beach. Tea towels are always provided.
No need to bring any. Bed linen is included, and your beds are made up ready for your arrival. If you have a low-occupancy discount, we make up the beds for the number of guests booked.
For stays of a week or more, we change your bed linen each week; if you would like it changed sooner, just ask, and we will arrange it. We can come in and remake the beds for you, or, if you would rather not be disturbed, we will leave fresh sheets and pillowcases at your door for you to change yourselves. Tell us which you prefer.
Cot linen is not provided, so please bring sheets, pillows and a duvet or blankets for the cot.
Yes, free of charge. A travel cot and a high chair are available on request for children up to 3.
Please order them at least 14 days before you arrive, and bring your own cot linen.
Yes, and we can take it in for you. Tesco, Asda and Morrisons all deliver here, and we work with local producers and suppliers, including C&M Organics for organic veg boxes.
If you would like your shopping waiting for you when you arrive, phone the farm office on 01437 563260 once you have completed your online check-in, and we will arrange the delivery with you and take it in, with the chilled and frozen food put straight into your cottage fridge and freezer.

Please ask us, your on-site hosts and owners, or any of our staff, while you are here. A birthday, an anniversary, a surprise for someone in your party, a dietary need, help getting about: tell us what you have in mind, and we will help you arrange it. One guest recently booked a tractor driving experience as a surprise for her husband, and we kept the secret until the morning it happened.
Our help in planning and arranging is part of your stay. Anything we provide or buy for you is charged, and we agree on the price with you before we arrange it.

Yes. Assistance dogs, trained to carry out specific tasks for a disabled person, are welcome in all our cottages free of charge, as the Equality Act 2010 provides.
Emotional support, therapy and comfort dogs are not assistance dogs in UK law, and online registrations and certificates do not make them so. They are welcome as pet dogs, on the same terms and at the same nightly charge as any other dog.
Please tell us when you book if you are bringing an assistance dog. We may ask to see its identification, such as an Assistance Dogs UK ID book, or evidence of its training for an owner-trained dog.
Every day of the year, including Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Easter. Christmas, New Year and Easter are some of our busiest times, and the animals still need feeding on Christmas morning, so the 8:30 feeding walk goes ahead every day, whatever the date.
Booking Queries
A non–refundable deposit of £400 is required for all bookings (or the full amount if this is less ) at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
Our preferred method of payment is via Bank Transfer (BACS) as we are charged a percentage of every card payment made. Please use your booking number and name as the reference.
We also accept cards. When making a booking online, you have the option to pay via bank transfer or by card. If you choose card, it will take you directly to our secure card processor, Holiday Rent Payments.
The remaining balance for your stay is due 90 days before your arrival, as stated on the booking confirmation email
If you want to book a holiday with all of the family together or with a large group of friends.

All of our accommodation is STRICTLY NON-SMOKING. Bookings are accepted on the strict understanding that smoking is not allowed in or near any property or building on the premises.
Smoking outside is only allowed in designated areas, and please use ash trays provided and respect the environment by not dropping cigarette butts on the ground.
The exact number of people allowed in each property is clearly stated and must not be exceeded.
This is a matter of health & safety and fire standards.
The Tower is the only property with space for an extra BED – this must be arranged before arrival in writing.
Yes we welcome well behaved dogs on the following conditions :
- Dogs are not to be left on their own in the cottage at any time.
- Dogs are not allowed in the Childrens play area.
- Dogs are to be kept on the lead under the control of a responsible adult.
- Dogs are to be kept on a lead in the gardens and are only allowed off the lead in designated fields.
- We will let you know on arrival which fields you can let them off the lead, as we are a working farm – We have cows and calves in the fields and cows do not like dogs.
- Owners are expected to clean muddy dogs before entering the property.
- Owners are responsible for “bagging and binning” of their pets litter. Pet waste bins are provided.
- We do charge an extra cleaning fee of £5 each per night with a maximum of 2 per cottage. If there is found to be more dogs than stated, we reserve the right to ask you to find alternative suitable accommodation for any extra dogs.
- Some breeds of dog, including those listed in the Dangerous Dog Act 1991, are not allowed, if in doubt please check when booking.
- If we think your pet is causing a disturbance or damage to either livestock or the property, we reserve the right to ask you to remove them from the premises immediately.
- It is illegal under the Equality Act 2010 for any business to refuse access (in this case a booking) to a person with an assistance or guide dog, and as such assistance dogs are welcome in our cottages free of charge. We reserve the right to view an assistance dog’s ID.
Other pets may be permitted at our discretion, please check when booking.
We offer all our guest free fishing along our 2.5 mile stretch of river, and in places both sides.
We have Brown trout all year round; Salmon and Sewin (Sea Trout) migrate up later in the season. The fishing season is from 3rd March – 30th September.
Fishing in waders, (if you have them) is advised as there are a number of trees along the river bank.
By law, you must obtain a rod fishing licence from the government, this can be done online or over the phone.

General Queries
Check-in is from 5:00pm. All guests are required to complete their online check-in before arrival — your key code, WiFi details, and full cottage information will be sent to you once check-in is complete. Please do not travel before completing this step.
When checking in online you can also add extras to your booking — including cot and high chair, towel hire, and any other special requirements. Please do this in good time as some items need to be arranged in advance.
If you need any help completing your online check-in, please call the farm office on 01437 563260 and we will be happy to help.
And here is something worth knowing — if you call us on the day of your arrival to let us know you are on your way, we will make sure the lights are on and the cottage is warm and welcoming when you arrive.
Please plan to arrive between 5:00pm and 7:00pm where possible. If you expect to arrive after 7:00pm please let us know in advance. In winter, darkness falls before 5:00pm — if you are arriving after dark please ensure your online check-in is complete before you set off so you have everything you need on arrival.
Please vacate the property by 10:00am on your departure day. We reserve the right to charge a surcharge of £20 per hour for late departures.

Whitland – 5. Miles – 8 Minutes drive – 2 Butchers, Coop with free cash machine outside, Boots Pharmacy, Post Office inside Premier corner shop.
Narberth – 5.4 miles – 10 minutes drive – 2 Butchers, 2 Welsh delis, 1 Spanish deli, Health food shop at PlumbVanilla, Pharmacy, Costcutter with Post Office inside, Spar & CKs. There are free cash machines in Spar & CKs.
You will most probably be driving through the town of Carmarthen. There you will find a M&S, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons etc.
